For your home signal @Jamiehill, try setting this app up on your phone, and have it watch places you visit often for you:

Your signal can be helped by this: Guide: How can I sort out my network issues?
And affected by this: Guide: Do you have poor coverage / signal Indoors? This may help Explain / resolve it
For the US, note O2 roaming data is severely rate-limited... Check this thread and the thread linked in it:
