I have just got a Samsung Watch 4 with esim package attached to my account.

It seems to work but I still don't understand it fully. Should i be able to send texts from the watch when my phone isn't with me or switched off ? Should I get any calls directly on my watch.

Just tried it now and with phone in airplane and watch showing o2 calls go straight to voicemail ?

Even if you don't have the phone with you it still needs to be switched on and in service.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

You said above the phone was in airplane mode?

It has to be in service, ie connected to the network as it would be normally, not in airplane mode.
