Roaming Mobile Data settings coming from Virgin

Hi,

I have come the USA having purchased the O2 Travel Bolt On before I left.  My iPhone connects to AT&T 5G but I get no data.

Looking at my Mobile Data Network settings, the Mobile Data APN is set to goto.virginmobile.uk whereas all the other APNs are idata.o2.co.uk.  I tried changing the Mobile Data APN to idata.o2.co.uk and I got some data, but it was unusably slow (even on 5G).

What should this setting be with the Travel Bolt On?

Thanks,

Andrew

use mobile.o2.co.uk instead of idata for you APN settings

Data speed will be capped at around 2mbps in the states

USA - Roaming with O2

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@AndrewF

Additionally I would suggest manually connecting to T-Mobile network.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thanks for the tip. Is that just a speed or reliability thing?

O2 restrict the speed. It used to be a lot slower! Still just about usable for basic email etc
