Anyone set up Reolink Camera? Never used a pay as you go sim card! How do I activate it?

I have 4 cameras, 3 IP (external) and 1 in house at a different location and also an NVR. Why do you need a SIM card for a Camera unless you paid the earth for a 3/4G camera which will cost a bundle to upload video on.
