Data speeds are capped to 0.5mbps. OK for email but not much else

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Roger887

A few things to try...

         *  Make sure data roaming and mobile data is turned on in your phone's settings.

          * Manually search for another network

          * If you have an iPhone change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

           * Try toggling Airplane mode on/off (it often helps kickstart things)

           * Drop down to 3G and see if that helps.

           * Contact O2 to see if there are any roaming bars on the account

If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.

Hi Breanna

did get through to O2 technical support. Gave me usual instructions as people have posted. This has not worked. Phone connects and then disconnects from T mobile. My wife’s phone on same account she has O2 sim android phone and hers is okay. O2 did confirm my account is correct for use in USA and active. They gave me some money back for the disruption, however that’s not much use when you needed a working phone. Luckily others in our family group have working phones so we getting along ok. Doing the parks in Orlando.

@Roger887

This interesting article states quite categorically, that the THREE PAYG sim is the best to use for 4G coverage in the US.

If you have problems, then buy a local sim from T Mobile or AT&T.

Hi @Roger887 that is definitely frustrating. It might be worth getting a backup PAYG sim just in case.

Enjoy the parks! Hope you didn't miss the giant pink donuts from the Simpson's part of Universal Studios. Best food in the park. And that dragon in Diagon Alley is really something else as well.
