O2 contract cancellation

Hello, i just got off the phone with 202 about cancelling my 02 contract. That went ok. My question is however, that should i get a email or something which says that my contract has been cancelled. I know it takes 30 days to cancel but should i receive a notification before those 30 days about my contract being cancelled?  This might be a stupid question but oh well…
