I got an o2 MIFI dongle in 2016. I am travelling to South Africa next year - can I use it there? Does it need to be unlocked?

You should be able to use it with a SA SIM.

2016 it may be locked.

When in SA you will need to change the APN settings to the local network, so make sure you know how to do that

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Avri

Just to be clear, you cannot use your O2 sim over there.

O2 data sims only work in the UK.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
