Today, 16 October '20 @ 17:07hrs, I received 2: O2_Alert text messages stating: "You've been sent a media message from +447795123057. View it at www.o2.co.uk/m/by typing in your mobile number and pin: d913xx"

Can the O2 Gurus please clarify if these are from O2 or fake?

Upon a previous occasion I incurred a bill that was double my normal rate but did not alert the Fraud Department, it was from a company called Tap2bill, it is known throughout the world for Fraudulent behaviour but not questioned.

After checking my bill to date I have not incurred any additional charges and I have not been sent any 'media messages from that telephone number. After checking my 'contacts' no-one has the above telephone number.

Are these verified text messages, if so and I am to incur 'false' additional charges will they be refunded?

If they are fake, do other customers need to be made aware of these?

Your soonest attentions pls.

TY

These are mainly marketing texts.

You won't be charged but are probably not worth spending time on retrieving either.

I'd just delete it personally.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
