Hi, ever since I swapped my Virgin Android sim for O2 service every 2-3 days I go to make a call and it says no network connection. I have to re-boot the phone and all is well. I have checked my APN settings with O2 and all are correct. Are there any other settings that could be the problem, please? Rather annoying!

It may be a bad connection to your sim.
Take it out and wipe it with a dry cloth and try again.
