New phone, new sim, sim activated. Old sim no longer working new sim not working? Can't call text

Hi git my new phone and sim. Sim has been activated and my old sim no longer working. I can't use my phone to make or receive calls or texts. This has been the case for nearly 24hrs. What can I do?
