My phone won’t allow connection to NHS 111? Has anyone else experienced this and did you fix it?

I tried to get through to the NHS number 111 but my phone just cuts it off, three bleeps and then nothing.

I can dial other short numbers just not 111?

it’s a national free number in the UK for medical emergencies or advice. It’s not a premium number.

it’s an essential number for British citizens.

I called 02 twice and spoke to the robot no luck. This is urgent thanks

This is not customer services, and is probably an NHS Telecoms issue (the service is about as reliable as the NHS at times)..

Turn off WiFi Calling on your phone as if it cant determine your location it wont connect you to you local NHS Trust (this is advice from NHS).

You can also use 111.nhs.uk and someone will call you back

If you can dial the likes of 101 etc then you should be able to dial

If you still need help then call o2 on 0344 809 0202 or 202 (Pay Monthly) or call 0344 809 0222 or 4445 from PAYG

Not helpful. I have already turned off Wi-Fi calling in rebooted and tried to speak to 02 technical support. I got through to a lady  spoken English was very poor.  She was unable to help because she did not understand what the NHS 111 number is.  I called again, got past the robot which did not understand what I wanted as it wasn’t a bill etc and I then got passed around various teams. This is why I thought the community might be able to help, especially if someone else has had the same problem

Just a thought that if you have dial assist turned on it may effect it?

I obviously can't speak for the handful of regulars her but I have not heard of problems

@madasaf1sh tried to help, and you never said you had turned off WiFi Calling in yor first post.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Must be something in the call settings on your phone.

Have you done a network reset?

There is one other reason it wont work, and that is if you have been abusive to staff on the 111 service, as like a lot of services they can block you from accessing the service.

Your only other option is to call o2 again and also make contact with your local NHS trust or try your GP surgery to see if they have had any other reports.
