After reporting my problem of losing data and having to keep toggling airport mode to reactivate it since September. Emails calls and staff that seem to either not care or are not qualified. What’s the saying, if you need a job doing! So I’m leaving o2 to giffgaff also o2 the irony! After a month I’m going to join o2 again and see if it’s fixed, if not bye for good.

I guess you must be PAYG then, @Frustratedfool - don't forget to cancel any auto-topup you may have in place before you go, as your MyO2 account will ne deactivated when O2 process your termination. Good luck porting into Giffgaff, which is on the same network as the one you are just about to leave.

If you still have credit on your Pay As You Go account, you will lose that.

Pay monthly but out of contract, I will lose around £50 credit left of £77 credited  for my inconvenience. If I could I’d stay till I’ve used the credit up but it’s so inconvenient and I know o2 will not fix the issue. If anyone else has the same issues trust me don’t rely on o2 fixing it.

If you are contract, you can request a refund of that in your MyO2, front page about 2/3rds way down, @Frustratedfool - payment goes back to your normal payment source, card or bank. Or cheque, which takes much longer....

Refund requested, god they don’t make that easy. Thanks again, £57 that I thought I’d be losing. Have a virtual drink on me (real if in the pub) 👍

So left O2 for Giff Gaff£10 for the month 😂 Now on 12 month contract with O2, saved £2 a month from my previous pay as you go and 4x more data allowance. Since September I have been going crazy with data dropping off, O2 no help at all! This forum helped me deduce that my number needed turning off and back on. This worked for those fortunate ones able to get it done without losing their number 😬 Moral of this story, if you want something doing 🤷🏻‍♂️ Had to switch off O2 then back. All is as it should be now, anyone else having this problem then this is the fix risk free -ish lol. Thanks again to all for the advice 👊
