Phone stating not in uk when I am. States issue with Avon. Not a tech person haven’t got a clue what’s going on

Have you rebooted your phone, @Anne56 - it sometimes fixes such niggles.

Otherwise, if you have an Android phone, it could be this if related to Google Play: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7431675

Not sure what the Avon bit means?

How does your phone state "not in UK" - is this an on-screen message, audible announcement or another method? And what is the exact wording? You mention about "issue with Avon" but that doesn't mean much by itself.
