I have a contract that is finishing next month that I took out through Carphone Warehouse and have just recieved a text to say that my bill after the contract ends will still be the same as it is now, I thought that it would go down due to having paid off my device. Can anyone tell my why the price will stay the same

It's because you aren't on a refresh contract.

Guide: How does O2 Refresh work? 

You need to upgrade to a sim only tariff now to reduce your monthly bill.
