I want to change my direct debit to my American Express card but I can’t as it asks for sort code and account number which does not match UK standards

It's a glitch in the website if you have your card details saved and use autofill.

You need to enter the Amex Card number manually then it should work also you should see a Amex icon next to the number. If the card number is auto-filled then the CVV only allows up to 3 digits.
