Cannot call any 0800 numbers

Just had to make a call to my electric board to report a fault which is an 0800 number and it just disconnects. I spoke to them two days ago and it was fine. I now find all 0800 numbers disconnect with 'Call Fail'. Calling a land line or mobile is not a problem.

02 said there is no reason on my account this would happen. There are engineers working on a local mast but fail to see how it could affect 0800 numbers.

I checked my phone, no 0800 blocked, restarted it, nothing. I had to use my parters mobile on 3 to make the call which was an emergency.

Anyone any ideas?

Many Thanks Phil

@Phil15

Quite possibly due to engineering work on the mast - depends what they have accessed or turned off whilst doing the work.

Try again when the work is completed.

I've just tries an 0800 number and it connects OK here where I am.

Thanks @MI5, seemed very odd that just 0800 would fail, but I am no engineer, so maybe I have learned something. Got a little flustered because it was an emergency (ish).
