You fail to mention where in Asia - not all countries have roaming deals with O2, so price may be limiting. However, as mentioned above, @Andymar - some things to try:
Manually search for another network
Reboot the phone
If still not working then contact O2 to remove the Roaming bar on your account.
If you message O2 via Social Media at the link just below, they should be able to help.

You could also try WhatsApp, but you and your called party will need to use the app - and some Asian countries block usage of WhatsApp, alas. Good luck!

China sorry,  I had a call come through but missed, can't call out. How I contact them as trued all options

Had to go through online support after a while told what to try, still have issues calling out, call getting through,  so temporarily got card here till am back
