Hi,

I will buy a new unlocked smartphone (Xiaomi redmi note 10T) in Japan which accepts nano sims and esims. I am assuming I will be able to use my O2 nano SIM (or esim) when I return to London?  Please can anyone help.

You can check here WillMyPhoneWork.net - Check if your phone works on a network

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks for the reply.  They don't have my model but I've sent them a message.  Keeping fingers crossed they will reply.

It should work for the majority of features, but be aware (and I talk from experience) buying phone in Hong Kong) some features might not work..

Visual Voicemail - If Supported

Wifi Calling

Make sure you can get all menus in English as that can be fun...

There will be no warranty on the phone in the UK, so any issues, you will have to talk to Xiaomi in Japan

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

I bought a Samsung in Hong Kong and apart from a few 'unique' features the phone works fine in Thailand and the UK

Thanks for letting me know.  I've decided to buy the phone in the UK instead.
