AMEX bill payment not working

I’m trying to pay my bill with AMEX card. It has worked in the past and I have saved my card there. 

I was not able to pay a bill using AMEX for the last couple of months because I get a generic error message from O2 saying the payment was declined and to check with my bank. 

I did check with AMEX, they said they never receive a payment request from O2. 

I have tried manually entering the card details as well as removing and adding the saved card. Nothing works. 

 

I had to pay the last bill with a master card.

It could be the AMEX payment gateway provider that o2 use had an issue. 

 

The only people that can tell you anything is o2 and I doubt the CS Teams will have the foggiest.. But you can try on 0800 902 0217 


Make sure you request a Transaction Trace from o2 to provide to AMEX, as I do know they do sometimes have flakey gateway integrations..
