hi, i regularry go abroad as i work as cabin crew, I have 2 phones that I use every time i use the iphone i go over the 1.99 data within one facebook status, and ive gone over by lots, i hear that apps run in backgroun all the time and take all your money how can i get rid of all the apps so i can just use the 1.99 data bolt on as ive just been charged an extra £30 from a trip in majorca when didnt even use it and this was using wifi most of the time!

On the other hand my blackberry is amazing can be on facebook/twitter all day with no extra costs? why is this?

I need help i dont want my phone bills £120 a month like before when they didnt have the 1.99 data bolt on !

thanks becky

Depending on what phone you can turn off the updating of the apps.

Better still turn off data altogether.

Turning off your voicemail before leaving the UK will help too.

Blackberry's compress data so use a fair bit less than other phones.
