Hi , I recently lost my phone so decided to upgrade to a new one which I ordered yesterday.

I just wanted to make sure that my number will stay the same and all my contacts,apps will be transferred over.

@bernieone You need to report your phone as lost if you haven't done so already:

Looks like you should contact the sales team as they can help with that – message them on Social Media if that works best for you

See links below

Or you can call them from 8am to 8pm on 0808 002 0202 or 0800 081 0255

@bernieone

I think that you might well have a problem with data - contacts, apps etc - that was stored on the handset that you have lost, unless you have backed it up.

I appreciate that this is a bit late for you now, but once you have got your new 'phone set up, it would be wise to back it up :-

iPhones backup to iCloud and Android to Google, all by default and automatically now, so nothing should be lost at all.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

As far as Android is concerned @MI5, it depends on the :-

1. age of the handset, and

2. the actions you took when setting the 'phone up initially.

My Samsung handsets do not back up to Google ! 👍

You'll be surprised what Google has backed up

I think if you check the Google Photos app you will find your photos automatically backed up
