what is the app to dawn load to block nuisance calls

The only one I've heard of is Truecaller. I have no idea how effective it is though

I don't think you need to download any app, depending on the phone you use, you can block a number from calling you.
For my phone, I just long press on that number, a series of options comes which include block this number.
So try and see.
What phone are you using?

That's exactly what I do @KingAmo

I use Truecaller which will block all numbers that are known spammers or that are reported by the community too before they even try to call you.
