Right so I’m eligible for a free upgrade even though I have 6 months left on my contract. My questions are is it really a free upgrade. They have offered to pay the remainder of my contract. Do I keep my old phone.

@Scotty1977

Is this with a third party seller from a phone call?

If so, I would be wary of that sort of promise. You may end up with a contract which doesn't suit you at all.

If you are currently with O2, you can upgrade once you have paid off your device

If you bought your contract at Carphone warehouse (or similar), O2 will pay off what you owe to allow you to upgrade to a refresh contract.

No catch. It's a great offer but O2 also benefit from retaining a customer on a new contract.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I can’t see them letting me keep my old phone to pass on or sell. Surly they will be losing money every time they do this.

Yes, you keep your phone.

As I said, you are tied into a new contract with O2 so they get back the money that way.
