Visual voicemail on iPhone 6s

I have recently bought a new contract phone with o2 and had my number transferred from my old network. On my new device I can access voicemail and play messages via the voicemail section on my phone however the messages are not coming up with the option for it to be a transcript.

When I call 1750 to set up visual voicemail it says "your messaging service could not be set up as we have not received your number”

Any solution to this or will I have to call customer services?

Try texting the word "STATE" to 9011
If that fails, give them a call on 202.

I guess you have rebooted phone to see if that helps?
