Virtually no wifi connections outside!

Using my contract N920 I have found that there is virtually nowhere that I can access for free wifi when out in Glasgow. BT systems seem to have carved up the City Centre and O2 are the only major network NOT listed as a partner to access the systems. All my friends are using their Orange, EE, Vodafone, Virgin etc handsets and I have to use wap! O2 access points seem to be virtually non existent! O2 are making it harder and harder to justify remaining (I've been with Cellnet all the way through to Telifonica).

A casual observer could be forgiven for thinking that O2 want out of the business apart from Central London.

O2, you've went from being a decent provider (especially BB which you ditched and sold to SKY) to one that couldn't care less! What are you doing?

Hi

I was under the impression hotspots are in a variety of places such as McDonalds etc.

My ISP is Bt and can use them too but tbh I sometimes find this type of connection slower than my O2 connection and can be less secure.

Have you tried forgetting the network under wifi and try connecting.

Is your phone operating fine ie is it a possible fault with the phone.

Your right about not being a listed partner.

If you know anyone with a BT landline you can use their account details to log onto the BT hotspots but I agree they are the most plentiful and would be great if O2 customers could access them directly.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thanks, not a fault with the Nokia, don't use McD but wandered into a Starbucks and it was BT access as described above. The Cloud can be accessed using my SKY credentials but is rather useless unfortunately. Rather frustrating that BT works but I can't use it, and there are no signs of O2 points other than the O2 Retail Stores. So much for being able to use wifi outside.

Hi

Just thought it worth mentioning about your phone slight_smile

I understand your frustration.

I'm not a big user of my Bt free unlimited wifi but submit it is handy if I need it ,and do remember the negative comments from O2 customers when the changes happened.

You can purchase Bt wifi but it's not that cheap https://my.btwifi.com/selfcare/purchase/chooseProduct.htm;jsessionid=41F24F11E6A393A036EA372FC29C2AA...
