Using pac code to keep number but staying with O2!

Found a great deal online for a Note 9 with an O2 sim/ contract.

I'm currently with O2 (pay monthly, but contract is finished) so will want to use my pac code to keep my current number.

Can I use the pac code like this or do I have to transfer to a different network?

Anyone got any experience with this?

@Daveofedinburgh If you're already with O2 you don't need a PAC. You can speak to customer service and they will move your number to your new contract. https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Sorry for being thick, but does that answer my question- it doesn't seem to cover using a pac but staying with O2?

You don't need a PAC if you are staying with O2. simply call customer service and ask them to migrate your number to the new contract. That will also close the existing account.
