Using my contract in Australia

I'm going to work in Australia for a year or longer and want to take my phone and contract with me. I've seen someone else asked the question on this subject but there wasn't talk of a possibility of just talking to 02 and saying that your living in a different country can this be updated and data and allowance just recognised that it is a different country? As you can tell this is clutching at straws lol

No chance for data use but use Tugo on WiFi or a local sim and you can use your call and text allowances to contact any uk numbers.
