Why when I am due an upgrade after over 2 years on my current contract do I have to pay more a month and pay more for a better handset?

This is how o2 work all customers old or new pay the same.

You can upgrade on o2 at any of the independents for less and still be a an o2 customer . just the economics of the independents (but be careful of other products and services they try to sell)

It's down to choices.

Look at the independents on the high street. 


O2 run a fair deal policy. Same deals for new and existing customers.

As said above down to choices and o2 running a fair policy for new and old customers

It's good to look around as you will find better deals at other phone shops like Carphonewarehouse or phones4U but as mentioned be careful

And always read reviews as some companies have really bad feedback
