Unable to connect to any 4g network in Kos

Anonymous
Not applicable
I'm currently in Kos and have been trying to connect to a 4G network but after five days it still isn't happening. My wife is also an O2 pay monthly customer and was able to connect on her first attempt.

The details;
O2 pay monthly contract
Sony Xperia XZ premium
Connecting manually
2G and 4G networks found during search but any attempt to connect to 4G results in same message "unable to connect, try again later".

My wife has a Samsung galaxy s7 edge and had no problems connecting manually to Vodafone 4G.

Any advice appreciated, thanks.

O2 do not have 4g roaming agreements so you need to be on 3g.

Thanks for your quick replies.

So how is my wife's O2 galaxy connecting to Vodafone 4G every time, without fail?

Also, her network list shows several Greek 3G variants of networks but mine only shows 2G and 4G, I have no 3G options other than Turkey?

Is hers a business account?
There’s no other explanation that we are aware of?

She's on O2 via carphone warehouse.

I have a Sony Xperia tablet with a Tesco PAYG sim and I've just done a network search with that and all the 2,3 and 4G networks are showing up. I don't use mobile data on the tablet but it did allow the 3G Vodafone connection and not the 4G one.

But, is it a personal or business contract?

(Only business contracts can access 4g when roaming, so I'm kind of answering my own question).
