You can use O2 Travel Inclusive (tariff dependant) which gives you 100 texts, calls and data .
If you aren't on the tariff to have Inclusive then you can use O2 Travel which gives you the same as above but you pay £4.99 per day.

However, Travel in the US will give you heavily throttled data which people say is unusable at time. Usually recommend a local sim, AT&T which will work much better.
Best bet is to use Wifi whenever you can, although if you are doing road travel this may not be an option.
Check My O2 to see if you have either of the travel bolt ons.

I would go with a local carrier sim, cheaper than £5 a day you would pay to o2, and quicker speeds..
T-Mobile or AT&T will be your best bets

Not sure Esim on PAYG in the US, you would need to check with the carriers, there websites will have plenty of information.
Also look at Mint or one of the MVNO's
