Transferred number, now can't text

My Simplicity SIM arrived today and I rang Customer Services to have my old number transferred from my PAYG SIM. Very good service there. I was informed that it would take somewhere between 4 and 24 hours to complete. Anyway, on to the problem. Since about an hour ago, calls made by me appear to come from my old number, calling the number goes through and I can receive texts fine. However, I cannot send texts. I am using an iPhone 3G and have reset the phone twice. After resetting it the first time, I was told that I have a voicemail which I don't have. Not sure if that's relevant.

Is this just a temporary thing while the number is still being transferred or do I need to ring customer services again?

When porting your number, sms is the last stage to be completed. It will probably be fine in the next 24 hours. Also check your message centre number. For all Pay Monthly tariffs customers your message centre number is +447802000332.

I'm having the same problem... How long did it take for the texts to work again fully, Jammy_Stuff?
