Switching from o2 pay & go to o2 simplicity?

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hey, not an o2 user but I'm planning on making the switch, 2 quick questions:
1) I want to get on o2 simplicity but no site ever offers this with the phone I want. Is it possible to buy an o2 phone on a pay as you go deal then order the simplicity sim card and dump the original?

2) Are the unlimited texts on o2 simplicity to all networks or just o2?

Thanks

Yes you can get the simplicity 'sim only' when you need it and also get your preferred mobile number transferred to it.You would have to change the phone settings when going onto a monthly account. These are normally sent direct to your phone when you insert the new sim card.

The texts are for use to any UK network but cannot be used as part of your allowance unless you are in the UK.

Mms are not part of your allowance and are chargeable at 20p each.

Hope this helps

Cheers. Not too bothered about keeping my number, can just send a block text message to my contact list anyway with the unlimited texts, saves hassle of asking for a code from Vodafone etc.

The phone I'll probably get is nokia 6230, any idea if the change settings are sent automatically with it? If not, are they easy to mess up if you have to do it manually?

The 6230 was discontinued 5 years ago. It won't get the settings automatically.
Just to explain your first question Simplicity is a SIM only tariff (it doesn't come with a phone) which is why you haven't seen it advertised with the phone you want.

6230? Why the hell did I type that. I meant the 2730, not sure why I typed 6230...

Does that make any difference?
