If using switch up in store do I have to have further credit checks ?

Yes you do as it is classed as a new contract.

No credit check for an upgrade however you do start your new commitment again. 

I used myself before and went straight through as a normal upgrade just the early fee gets waived off as your giving the phone back. 

had this confirmed by O2 mods on here too

Are there any restrictions?

You need to have Switch Up either as part of a Plus Plan (at no extra cost) or with any other Custom Plan (for an additional monthly cost). It’s not available with sim only plans.
Your current phone also needs to be in good enough nick – meeting our grading criteria – and your account with us can’t be in arrears. Upgrades may be subject to passing a credit/fraud check.
