Swapping to new contract

I'm thinking of starting a new sim contract due to a student discount offer which ends soon. However my current contract doesn't end until August. I can't just upgrade my contract as the student discount offer isn't available when doing it that way. If I got the new contract could I swap sims and keep my current number? Also what would happen to my current contract, would I be paying for both until my current one ends, or is there a way around that?

Thank you

@Thomas51

You need to pay off your old contract or pay for both until you can cancel in August.

You can use any sim in your phone.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@Swap_contracts

Sounds like the USwitch off

Go on there site to buy and when put through to O2 choose upgrade

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
