Simplicity Internet

Hi all,

Just got my simplicity 20 with free unlimited web bolt on. I am currently using a samsung i8910HD. When I connect to the internet it says "o2 WAP post pay" as my connection. Is this the correct one?

Thanks

It should be labelled as Mobile Web for all contracts including Simplicity.

Check your APN in the web settings, if it's mobile.o2.co.uk then you're on the right one.

Mine uses O2 Postpay WAP, is that wrong and does it make any difference, as it works ok?

As long as the APN's correct I don't think the label really matters. The WAP label's an old one, I believe. My last few phones have all had "Mobile Web" as a setting.

I must be old fashioned, my APN is wap.o2.co.uk.

I think that one's still used for non "full web" capable phones (i.e. ones without a full browser like Safari or Opera Mini).

The APN is certainly still in use for MMS.

But AFAIK, anyone on contract accessing the full web (apart from with iPhone or BlackBerry) should be usung the APN mobile.o2.co.uk.

Happy, as always, to be corrected.

Yes, WAP is for accessing through the WAP gateway and Mobile Web is for internet access.

You should really have both, as they are used for different things.
