Ruined xmas

Anonymous
Not applicable

ow, what an absolute joke O2 are. I applied to get my old contract phone unlocked as i had just got a new contract with o2 so was going to give my old phone to my daughter for christmas. I applied to get it unlocked in early December only to be rejected 2 times because they said its not an O2 phone! What an absolute joke, its been my phone with O2 for the past two years and it ruined her xmas present as i wanted to give her the phone to go travelling with so i ended up having to buy one for her that wasnt as good. Awful terrible treatment of a long standing customer.

Hi @Anonymous Out of interest where did you actually buy the phone from? . I know you were with O2 but if the phone came from Carphone Warehouse (on O2 contract) it would have been unlocked anyway. CPW sell only unlocked phones (except iPhones)

Did you ever try another sim in the phone to check?

A guide to unlocking here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-guides/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-card/ba-p/1014131

The message you got back from o2 usually means the phone is unlocked already.
Why didn’t you come here to ask us in early December and we could have helped you then?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
