Im going on holiday and want to ude my phone for photos if i set it to airplain mode will that work?.i dont want to be charged. £5 a day as i wont use it for texts or calls will they be turned off also?.

Yes the camera will work fine in flight mode. When you comeback to the UK you will need to manually upload them to Google unless you have set to back them up automatically.

That's on android. IPhone will automatically back them up here.

@Anonymous If you're not planning on using your phone other than for photos while you're abroad, the easiest thing to do is take your O2 sim out of the phone and put it in a safe place where you know you can find it. That way there isn't any chance of the phone connecting to any network, and no chance of being charged for roaming. Sims are very small these days, so make sure you remember where you've put it.

You could also take a proper camera and leave the phone at home.
Have you got the phone insured in case it’s lost or stolen?

Make sure you also turn voicemail off before you go by dialling 1760 ... to turn it back on when you get home is 1750 . You wont be tempted to answer them @Anonymous

@Anonymous. Where are you travelling to? Remember charges are the same in the EU now as they are in the UK.

At the quoted £5 a day it will be outside of the EU.
