I am abroad in Amsterdam for a number of months and can rarely pick up a signal to use my mobile data. I would be grateul for some advice as I thought I could use 4g wherever I am, especially in major cities

@DFin As far as I am aware, O2 has no 4G roaming agreements in Europe, although recently I had seen a post on the forum saying that you can get 4G in Germany. I don't believe you will be able to get 4G in Amsterdam.

@BambinoIs correct. O2 has no 4G roaming agreements other than with Germany.

If you are struggling to get a signal try a manual network search and see if changing the one you are currently using improves your situation @DFin

You also need to turn off 4g and just try to select 3g as this confuses some phones due to no 4g roaming.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@DFin Another alternative, if you really need 4G for your data, would be to get a sim from a local provider, if your phone is unlocked.
