I have tried to call and speak to someone from o2 and I can’t get through to anyone I have been on hold for over 1 hour !

If you've been on hold for more than 30 minutes you've probably fallen out of the queue and need to hang up and call back @Cw4 

The direct numbers for the payment management team are 0800 902 0217 / 0800 032 5302 - they are who you need to speak to.
