Just had a call from 02081447436 claiming to be O2 and upgrading my tariff to unlimited data with a 30% discount. Gave them short shrift and said not interested and hung up.
just making sure it wasn’t actually O2 and I’ve just turned a good offer down!

number came up on my phone as being from Scotland initially although it’s a London number; girl with a foreign accent on the other end.

Who called Me states According to our users' reports, there is a high probability that the telephone number 02081447436 that called you is a billing scam! At the moment we are unable to verify that this number is genuine and truly belongs to O2.

It's almost certainly a scam. I've had a few calls over the last couple of days trying to get me to get through security and sent them a code that would give them access to my account.

What gives it away is that if you suggest calling in on the main number they start coming up with excuses why the promotions department has a different numner and you must call them on their 'special' number.

Report the number to o2 and then action can be taken against the company and there phone provider.

Interestingly the calls that I received came from the main O2 phone number so nothing to report there.

I still called O2 to let them know and they said there wasn't anything they can do in my case (as I had thwarted their attempt to access my account)
