Switching from Plusnet (EE) to O2, sim only.

The port should have happened on 4th March (yesterday) but started this morning.

The phone connects to O2 network, I have mobile data (internet, email, etc.).

I can send TXTs and make outgoing phone calls and they show the ported number.

The ported number shows up on the MyO2 account.

But nobody can send TXTs to the ported number or phone it.

The phone doesn't know what its phone number is either.

The O2 help says wait a few hours and keep turning phone off then on.

Been doing this but no change so far.

How long should I wait?

You will need to call o2, and get them to pass the issue to the porting team, who will in turn need to pass it to EE's porting team to fix the issue, as it will be something missing on the donor network...

You can change your number in the settings on the device, a quick google for your OS will show you how to do this.

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

That was interesting.

Called O2 and the automated system said it had trouble getting my account details and put me on hold for an agent.  After a long wait, the agent said there was a problem with the O2 system and couldn't ask me any security questions so there was no way they could help.  They said tech support were working on it and I should call back in a couple of hours.

So I hung up saw that and my phone had received some TXTs.

I tried a few other things and yes, the phone could now receive TXT and phone calls. slight_smile

The other services were still working but MyO2 account was no longer accessable.

It is half back now but read only.

Mesage is

We're updating our systems right now, so you can't make any changes at the moment. Please try again later.

Have got the O2 app installed (now that I can receive the security TXTs) and am getting used to being with O2.
