@Alison1965

Your old sim will turn off and your new O2 sim will have your old number on it.

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/device-and-sim-support/how-to-keep-your-mobile-number

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

O2 will also text you to say its completed. If you put in the port request before 5pm Monday to Thursday it will generally take 24 hours. If you submit a port request on Friday before 5pm it will be done on Monday.

If you submitted the port request online, you must answer the customer service security question correctly, it will also ask for the O2 sim card number, if you do the request online and it turns out that these details are incorrect,you will receive an email from 'Blue Prism' stating that it was not successful. This email sometimes lands in your spam/junk inbox so please check these.

If you are having difficulty porting your number call customer services on freephonw 202 from your O2 phone or freephone 08081004439 from another phone.

If you are a pay and go customer, you need to call 4445 from an O2 mobile or 03448090222 from another phone.

Hope this helps!
