O2 upgrade options are a joke

im due for a new phone so i looked at the upgrade options which i assume would give me better deals than if i were a new customer. i was quite wrong. i was wanting to go on to sim only. lets see. if i chose it as an upgrade i can get 100 mins, unl texts and 100 mb of data for 10.50 a month. i can also have the same if i am a new customer. is this seriously how o2 operates? 2 years and no rewards? i switched from orange to o2 cause i thought orange was expensive. but at least when my contracted ended with them i went sim only for 4 quid a month for 300 mins. what is also silly is im about to cancel my contract now its done and rejoin o2 and get a better deal on the samsung gal s2 with another company but still on o2. infact i will be paying only a little more than the sim free option i was looking at yet i get 5 times the data allowance.

i have spent a while searching for a number to ring to talk about this. maybe they will be more flexible through talking. but that is some task on its own and ive given up.
