Hi,

I am just about to be able to finish the first year of my 2 year refresh contract...

Next month, I will be eliible to upgrade my handset.

My question is, could I hand the phone back to o2, and just pay the airtime part of the bill, without upgrading to a new handset..?

Thanks

Once paid 24 months the handset is yours to keep or sell

if after 12 months you have to pay the remaining 12 months of the handset to get out of the contract unless on the upgrade on us tariffs but new contract and phone required

iPhone 11 Pro 256gb on unlimited data
iPad Pro 12.9” 2020 256gb refresh o2 family discount
Apple Watch series 4
My first mobile was in 1995 a CM-R111 from sony on Cellnet.

Unless you are on the yearly upgrade on us deal, you will have to pay off the device plan yourself first in order to continue on airtime only.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

This is what I see when I look to uprgrade.

Hypothetically, if I had another phone to use, could I give my contract phone back to o2 as settlement for the device, and just pay the airtime...

Looking to Upgrade?

1 month until you can redeem your Yearly Upgrade, on us

From 21 November 2018 just hand in your current phone, and we'll pay off the rest of your Device Plan, so you can upgrade to a new phone on O2 Refresh.
Or, pay off your Device Plan for £462.00 now, and upgrade today. Terms apply.

You would need to hand the phone back and take out a new Refresh contract. You cannot give the phone back and carry on with the airtime without paying the £462. You would also have to switch to a new tariff.

As I thought, thank you for the confirmation anyway.

I was trying to get my hands on the iPhone XS Max a little earlier getting direct from Apple today. I'll just need to be patient and wait for next months upgrade.

Thank you
