O2 Recycle for the S8

Upgrading to the S8 today, but wanting to recycle my S6 Edge 64gb to credit towards the new airtime bill on the S8 contract. However, I'm not entirely sure how this works with a pre-order phone.

 

If I select the recycle option at checkout, do I need to immediately send my phone to you to get the credit, or can I wait until I receive the S8 to do so? Can't really send it now as I don't have a replacement to use in the meantime.

It's easier to do it that way if you want to ensure you are never without a phone.

Is recycle an option outside of the contract process?

 

By that I mean. Can I preorder the S8, and then once I have it, recycle my S6?
