I have had no service since yesterday. I've never had this problem before -  what could be causing this?

Try taking out your SIM and resetting it.
Check for local issues here http://status.o2.co.uk/
Last resort would be a SIM or phone fault.

Look at the settings in your phone for something that resets your network settings.

And or Try a soft reset and or hard reset of your phone. Google "hard reset"'for your make and model.

Be aware a hard reset typically deletes saved data so make a back up.
You could also contact O2 if everything checks out that MI5 highlights to check your account and possibly reset it.

O2 Customer Services. 202 for Contract 4445 for PAYG.
