To activate the new sim you need to do a sim swap, starting from your old sim.

Hi @Callumjake95

You can use your old sim in your new phone but if you want 5G and have a 5G phone and in a 5G area then do a sim swap from your old sim Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update
