New contract and first bill doesn't reflect my monthly payment

Just signed up to a 12 month contract at £7.99 pm. First bill says £7.52 + VAT = £9.02 to pay

I thought I was paying £7.99pm as advertised (as long as I don't use extra data beyond my contract). Sneaky advertising or have I missed something? 

Previous provider I paid exactly what I was told would be my monthly fee !

Your first bill is always higher as it is a pro rated amount till your billing date, then a month in advance, from then it goes back down.
