i have 4g and can make calls but when i try to use whatsapp it says awaiting network and facetime won't work. whats wrong?

Can you use the internet at all?
If not then it sounds as though you are connected to the network but don't have a correct APN (access point name, the settings for the phone to use data).

@Pav check in settings that those apps are allowed to access mobile data.
