Moving from monthly to PAYG

Hi. I’m currently a pay monthly (contract) customer but have paid off my plan and have decided to go to pay as you go until my phone gives up the ghost. Yesterday I  ordered a new (PAYG) SIM via ringing customer services. Today my data has been cut off (completely missing from my O2 app) and no SIM has yet arrived. I thought I needed to ring when it arrived to move my number across etc. - especially as I’m partway through a month so assumed I’d need to pay for this month anyway. I had no idea my data would be cut off without notice. What am I meant to do in the meantime? The o2 app says the new SIM is on its way but when I put the tracking number in Royal Mail it isn’t recognised. Has anyone had experience of this and/ or advice? Thank you.

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you call O2 on 202 or 0344 809 0202 or use O2's social media to help by messaging them on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.
